The Autonomous Region of the Azores is comprised by a group of nine islands.

A maritime service is offered by Açorline connecting from May to October, eight of the nine islands. From July to September, a second ferry is added to serve the central group of islands. The most venerable is the “Festa do Senhor Santo Cristo” celebrated with the presence of thousands of immigrants from the four corners of the world, specially from North America, that every year will gather in the town of Ponta Delgada, in São Miguel for one week in honor of the Saint Christ.
